Archie loved fishing and flying his own plane. He was also a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan.

Family and friendships meant the world to Archie. He will be remembered and sadly missed by so many, especially his siblings: Wally Shong of Alexander, North Carolina, Cora Marie Shafer of Eau Claire, Dave and Elaine Shong and Don and Judy DeShong all of Augusta, John Shong of Fairchild.
