Lucille Davis Obituary

Lucille M. Davis

May 15, 1928 - May 28, 2025

Lucille M. Davis, age 97 passed away on May 28, 2025 at Dove Healthcare in Osseo, Wisconsin.

Born May 15, 1928, to Gilbert and Sena (Gunderson) Sather, Lucille was the fourth of eight children who grew up on the family farm in Bennett Valley. She graduated from Gilmanton High School and then from the Buffalo County Normal in Alma, where she met her future husband. Before marriage Lucille taught in the one-room Gibson School.

Lucille married James Brevick on February 18, 1950, and they started life together in Alma building a truly happy home for themselves and their four children. Lucille was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She was also a highly respected teacher in the Gilmanton School District for many years. Lucille resumed her own education and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Education degree in 1972. She managed each of these roles - mother/teacher/student - with energy, enthusiasm, and pride.

Lucille enjoyed golfing, playing cards, baking, quilting, reading, casinos, and traveling. After retirement, she liked to spend winter months in the south. Most of all, she loved the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends.

After Jim's death, Lucille married Bernie Davis, and they shared a happy home in Mondovi. Together they resumed an active lifestyle including travel, golfing, card games, and time spent with each of their families.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Jim and Bernie; her siblings: Viola Johnson, Gordon Sather, Doris Lee, Shirley Mickelson, Walter Sather, Robert Sather, and David Sather; and infant granddaughters: Emily Kreibich and Ellie Brevick.

Lucille is survived by her children: Barb (Doug) Herrmann, Annette (Curt) Kreibich, Mary Burce, and David (Sherry) Brevick; her grandchildren: Michael (Missy) Kreibich, Sarah (Dan) Dillon, Christopher Kreibich, Katie (Neil) Dunn, Brian (Jamie) Burce, Andrew Brevick, Laura Brevick, and Ryan Brevick; and her great-grandchildren: Lillianna Kreibich, Whitney Kreibich, David Dillon, Sophia Burce, and Frederick Burce. Lucille is also survived by the children of Bernie Davis and their families: Barb Davis, Bob Davis, Brad Davis, Bruce (Cheryl) Davis, Bev (Gary) Doornik, and Becky Davis.
