Sadie L. Jacques, age 87 of Clear Lake, WI, died at her home early Tuesday, December 10 after a battle with breast cancer.
Sadie Lucille Jacques was born on February 15, 1937 in Allen, WI, the daughter of Ralph & Ella (Lund) Haas. She grew up on the family dairy farm and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1954.
After graduation, Sadie ventured to California and worked as a stenographer.
After a couple years, she returned to Wisconsin and married Wayne R. Jacques on December 1, 1956 at Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brackett, WI. They made their home in Milwaukee, WI and together raised five sons: Thomas, David, Russell, Alan and Steven.
In 1964, Sadie and Wayne moved to New Richmond, WI, and a couple years later purchased their hobby farm in Clear Lake, WI. In addition to farming and taking care of her family, Sadie also worked at Franklin Signal in Clear Lake.
When her sons were older, she decided to go back to school and received a certification as a medical assistant. Sadie went on and worked with Dr. Farah at the Baldwin Clinic for 19 years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed polka music and old-time dancing, tending to her flower gardens, picking and collecting rocks, and had an extensive collection of angels.
Sadie was also known for her love of quilting and sewing, wearing out seven sewing machines over the years. She was an active member of St. John's Catholic Church and will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
Sadie is preceded in death by her husband Wayne; her son, David Jacques; parents, Ralph & Ella Haas; infant granddaughter; brothers and sister, Roger Haas, Daniel Haas and Rose Haas.
She is survived by sons, Thomas Jacques, Russell (Joyce) Jacques, Allan (Melissa) Jacques, & Steven (Michelle) Jacques; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Tom Haas & Mary Muldoon; nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 13 from St. John's Catholic Church in Clear Lake, WI, with a visitation Thursday, December 12 from 4-7 p.m. at the Scheuermann Funeral Home in Clear Lake, WI and one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment - Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, WI Scheuermann Funeral Home and Cremation Services are handling the arrangements.
