Robert Jenkins Obituary

Robert 'Bob' Guy Jenkins Jr, 70

Jaffrey, NH - Robert Guy Jenkins Jr (Bob), 70, of Jaffrey, NH, passed away peacefully at his home, on Friday July 4, 2025, with his beloved family by his side.

He was born on July 25, 1954, in Quincy, MA, son of the late Robert Jenkins Sr and Mary (McNamara) Jenkins.

Bob spent the first years of his life growing up in Acton, MA. After this he lived in several towns around southern New Hampshire, including Brookline, Francestown, and Rindge, before he spent the last 25 years making Jaffrey his home.

Bob dedicated much of his life to working in the woods, where he thrived as the owner of a successful logging and firewood business. Notably, he logged with draft horses during his career. He also proudly served as the farm manager at The Meeting School in Rindge, NH from 1990-1995.

Although it was rare to find him away from his work in the woods, Bob had many interests and hobbies throughout his life. At local fairs, he competed in horse pulling and woodsmen events where his dedication and enjoyment of the sport was evident. Bob also had a passion for motorcycle riding. As a young adult, he loved to race motocross at local tracks. He was able to make multiple trips to Bike Week in Daytona, FL, and Laconia, NH where he made memories with some of his closest friends and fellow bike enthusiasts. For a brief period, he owned sled dogs and spent many winter months training them on the sled. Bob was an excellent mechanic and preferred to work on his own vehicles and equipment. Those who knew him fondly recall his unique sense of humor, gruff personality, and penchant to swear like a sailor.

Above all, Bob's greatest devotion was to his family. To his children and grandchildren, he will always be remembered as Papa.

Bob is survived by his beloved children, Hannah Jenkins of Jaffrey, NH, Sadie Jenkins of Peterborough, NH, Zachary Buckley of Stratham, NH, and Ezekiel Buckley of Peterborough, NH. He is also survived by his sister Holly Singer of Dickson, TN, and his brothers, Mark Jenkins of Baytown, TX, and Arn Jenkins of Zephyrhills, FL; and many nephews and nieces. Robert is also the proud grandfather to 2 grandchildren.

Bob's family would like to personally thank Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services of Keene, NH, for their kindness and compassion to him during his final moments.

A celebration of life will be held on August 17th, 2025 from 1:00-5:00 at the American Legion Post 11, 20 Webster Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
