Armealus Hair Obituary
He was a member of Chatham Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon, he proudly served our country in the US Navy during WWII. "Moe" worked for 30 plus years at Ennis Business Forms as a Plant Engineer in Chatham prior to his retirement. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 24 in Chatham, member of VFW Post 647, and American Legion Post 325. He was instrumental in the formation of the VFW Little League ball field which is now Haywood Crider Field in Chatham. He was also instrumental in the formation of the Bright Leaf Horse Show. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing at Cedars Country Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Shelton-Kitzmiller (Bob), a son, Donald Ray Hair (Karen), three grandchildren, Ashley Morgan (Seth), George Shelton (Amanda), and Amanda Smith (Michael), as well as five great-grandchildren, Shaffer Shelton, Addison Shelton, Mason Shelton, Neva Morgan, and Amelia Morgan.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Chatham Chapel with Pastor Darrell Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Mount View Cemetery in Danville, Virginia. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., also at Norris Funeral Service, Chatham Chapel.
At other times, the family will receive friends and family at the residence, 226 Dry Bridge Road, Chatham, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations in Moe's memory be made to the Chatham Baptist Church at 12 Court Place, Chatham, VA 24531.
