Anthony Smith Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Dodge Smith passed away at his home in Peculiar, Missouri, on March 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tony was born in Tarrytown, New York on October 5, 1953, to Peter and Marilyn Smith. Tony spent almost 30 years in Florida before settling in Peculiar, Missouri in 2006. He loved the outdoors and found joy in hunting, golfing, gardening, mushroom hunting, and tending to his small hobby farm. His faith in God was central to his life, and his devotion to his family was unwavering. He was especially grateful to get to spend his last Christmas making memories with Rebecca, all of his children, and his granddaughter, Finley.

Tony was preceded in death by his father and mother, Peter and Marilyn Smith, and brothers-in-law David Irvin, Bill Berube, and Vincent Hall. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Rebecca; his sons, Jonathan and Dodge; his daughters, Ruby, Nora, and Elizabeth; brothers Tim (Katie) and Jeremy (Martha) and sisters Pam and Patty; his precious grandchildren; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Samson.

Tony touched many lives through his faith, friendship, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 29th from 1:00-3:00 PM at The Barn at Riverbend, 6002 E 239th St, Peculiar, MO 64078.
