Betty Hall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 13, 2024.
Betty Jane Hall, 94, of El Reno, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on December 4, 2024. Betty was born on January 6, 1930, one of six daughters to Herbert and Cecelia Collins.

Betty grew up in Oxford, Michigan, and graduated from Log Cabin High School in Clawson, MI.

Betty married her highschool sweetheart John (Jack) Hall in 1949. Of that union they were blessed with 5 children.

A woman of many talents and interests, Betty was known for her exceptional skills in knitting and sewing, often crafting sweaters and baby blankets for her family and friends. Her green thumb brought beauty to her garden and her home, and she was renowned for her delicious pineapple upside down cake. Betty loved eating at Wendy's, and looked forward to her weekly lunch dates with her dear friend Dana. Betty also enjoyed word searches, which kept her mind sharp and provided much joy. She never missed an opportunity to discuss her childhood experience with polio, which was a badge of honor to her, "and that." Betty's life was marked by her crafts, and the simple joys of life. She will be thoughtfully remembered by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Bettie Hall Brossia (Bob) OKC, OK; John Hall (Karlene) Checotah, OK; Judi Hall Grose (Jeffrey) Brick, NJ; Pattie Hall Bray (Tim) Opelousas, LA; and James Hall of El Reno, OK.

Additionally, she was blessed to meet her two great-great-granddaughters, SkyLynne and Anna Heard. She is also survived by 3 of her sisters; Lois Curico, MI; Phyllis Shearer, TN and Sally Kane of AZ, along with several other family members and friends.

I was saddened to hear the news of my Aunt Betty´s passing. Although, we had limited times we saw each other due to living so far apart, I always had a great time when she was around.

So sorry to hear about Aunt Betty's passing. It was always fun when she would come to visit my mom. I will always remember her infectious laugh.

I shall always miss my sister Betty. I consider myself lucky that I had such nice sisters. My sister Betty and I were particularly close when I needed her most. Starting a new job, I needed a place that was closer to work. Betty opened her home to me, and I lived with her and her family. She took me all over the neighborhood and helped me find a place I could afford to live. Since we now lived in different states, we found the time to talk every week on the phone. We shared many memories good and bad.

I have many special memories I will always hold dear, and she will never be forgotten. Being a younger sister she was sometimes like a mom to me. she was always there when I needed her. Grief is not easy to deal with, but the memories will always outshine the grief.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. I will always remember Betty handsewing Betty Louises' beautiful wedding dress, and the many times we kids all lined up like stairsteps for photos. Jeannie, Betty, Phyllis, Shirley, Lois and, lastly, me. God bless you Betty.
