Daniel "Pete" Trlicek, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a cherished member of the Hallettsville community, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by his beautiful family. Born on August 7, 1947, in La Grange, Texas, Pete was the son of the late Clement and Julia Trlicek. He spent his formative years in La Grange before making Hallettsville his lifelong home, where he became an integral part of the community.

Pete proudly served his country as a medic in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

A man of faith, Pete was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Church. His commitment to his faith was reflected in his active service on both the school board and church board, where his guidance and leadership were invaluable. His involvement extended beyond the church as he was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, contributing to various charitable endeavors and community projects.

Pete's entrepreneurial spirit was a defining trait of his character. Throughout his life, he owned and managed several successful businesses, leaving a lasting impact on the local economy and providing opportunities for many in the community. His work ethic, vision, and integrity were admired by all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife Glenda Zappe Trlicek, who stood by his side for 55 years, sharing in life's joys and challenges. He leaves behind his loving children: Jeff Trlicek and wife Tara Sitka Trlicek and Kimberly Trlicek Hoke and husband John Hoke, who continue to honor their fathers' legacy through their own lives and accomplishments. Pete is further survived by; five grandchildren, Dylan Hoke and wife, Taylor, Rhett Trlicek, Rylee Trlicek, Kyna Hoke and Brandt Trlicek, and a great-grandson Porter Lincoln Hoke. Pete is also survived by his two older brothers, Clement Lee Trlicek and wife Jo Ann and Jim Trlicek and wife Earline all of La Grange, who shared a lifetime of memories with him rooted in family values and love.

Pete was predeceased by his parents Clement and Julia Trlicek, whose influence and love shaped the man he became, and his mother-in-law Ethlyne Zappe.

Pete will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to family and community, and his remarkable achievements. His legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye, we hold his memory in our hearts, cherishing the moments and the love he generously shared with us all.

Funeral Mass Service: 10:30 am, Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville with Visitation starting at 9 am and Rosary starting at 10 am. Officiant: Rev. Michael Rother. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic School. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. There was a time that Pete was in the office talking to a landman about a lease. The landman told Pete that he had his cell phone with him at all times he pulled the phone out of his pocket it was tv remote from hotel room. Pete never missed a beat and told him let me know if that rings.
