Danny Nathan Edwards, born January 20, 1964, in El Centro, CA, passed away on March 2, 2025, in Henderson, NV, after a lengthy illness.

Danny grew up in El Centro, CA, before moving to Corsicana, TX, where he graduated with the Class of 1982. Danny later earned a degree in journalism from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. His passion for writing led him to a career as a journalist with the Imperial Valley Press, where he worked for several years.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Danny taught history in Dallas, TX. He then moved overseas, where he made an impact on students in South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and China, teaching English as a second language.

Danny is survived by his wife, Juan Zi Li; his son, Brett Edwards; and his stepson, George Guan. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn Edwards Mealey; his sister, Beth Edwards Vincent; and his brother, Darin Mealey. In addition, Danny is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends, and most notably, his cousin Michael Smith of San Diego, CA, with whom he shared a very special bond.

Danny was preceded in death by his father Donald Eugene Edwards; his maternal grandparents, Evelyn and Johnny Smith; and his paternal grandparents, Bessie Slayton and Nathan Edwards.

A service to honor Danny's life will be held at Wade Funeral Home in Hubbard, TX, with interment immediately following at Fairview Cemetery. Please visit https://www.wadefuneralhome.net for details.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Timothy Donohue of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, along with all doctors, nurses, and health professionals who cared for Danny in recent years.
