David Fields Obituary

David Fields, 82, Richmond, KY, was born October 20, 1942, in Parkersburg, WV, and died July 2, 2025. David was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Mildred Fields, stepsister Margaret, and sister-in-law Cindy. He is survived by siblings Judy (Bill) Riggins, Durham, NC, Jim (Dee) Fields, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Rick (W) Fields, Somerset, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews from across the great USA. David was raised in WV, and graduated from Kingwood High School, Kingwood, WV, both WV University, Morgantown, WV and Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL - where he earned an undergraduate, two masters, and a doctorate in mathematics. He also studied at Tubingen University in Heidelberg, Germany for one semester. David worked the majority of his career and retired from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, KY, as an Associate Professor in mathematics and computer science. A celebration of life memorial service will be held in David's honor at a later date.
