Gary Thomas Wilson

May 15, 1948 - August 22, 2025

With deep sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of Gary Thomas Wilson, who went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born on May 15, 1948, Gary lived a life marked by faith, humility, hard work, and devotion to both his family and his Lord. A strong Christian, Gary's life was a reflection of his belief in grace, service, and integrity. He led by quiet example-offering strength, wisdom, and kindness to all who knew him.

Gary was the proud founder and owner of Wilson Construction, a respected general engineering contracting company based in Gardnerville. Through decades of dedication and honest work, he built more than roads and infrastructure-he built relationships, trust, and a legacy of excellence. Gary deeply loved and respected all of his employees, treating them like family and taking pride in their growth and success as much as his own.

He was also a devoted family man, sharing 55 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathy Wilson. Together, they raised three sons-Brian, Paul, and John Wilson-instilling in them the values of faith, perseverance, and love that Gary lived by each day.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy; his sons Brian (Rachael), Paul (April), and John; and his cherished grandchildren: Goldie and Zarafina, daughters of Brian and Rachael, with a new granddaughter expected in December; and Jordyn, Taryn, and Cash, children of Paul and April.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kelly Wilson; his father, Stanley Wilson; and his mother, Sherratt McNew. Though their absence was deeply felt in his life, Gary lived with the hope and assurance of reunion in Heaven.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 6, 2025, at High Sierra Fellowship in Gardnerville, Nevada. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and honor the life of a man who built with his hands, led with his heart, and lived with unwavering faith.

Gary ran the race set before him with courage and grace. His steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and enduring love will remain in our hearts forever. He is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
