James Blanchard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 21, 2024.
In loving memory of James "Coach B" Blanchard, 59, went to be with the Lord on July 19th, 2024. A faithful servant, James was a devoted husband, a guiding light as a father, a doting grandfather, a loyal brother, loving uncle, and an inspirational coach. His profound dedication to his family, his friends, and his unwavering faith has left an enduring legacy.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Blanchard; his children, Tara Spellman (Ben); Bayley Blanchard (Emory) and Meg Blankenship (Jake); his treasured grandchildren, Madden Spellman and Hylie Blanchard; and his brother, Fran Blanchard (Tara). His nephews and niece, Erick French (Mary), Coty Blanchard (Mollie), and Candace Young (Tanner). James was predeceased by his mother, Carolyn Blanchard, and his sister, Charlene French.

James served with distinction as a football coach for 24 years, where he was affectionately known by all as "Coach B." He impacted the lives of so many by developing their character beyond the field of play. His passionate commitment to coaching was a reflection of his deep faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

A member of Flow Church in Ashville, AL, James lived his faith through active participation and service to his church community.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of James Blanchard will be conducted on the 22nd of July, 2024, at 7 o'clock in the evening at the Westbrook Christian Gymnasium, situated at 100 Westminster Dr., Rainbow City, Alabama 35906.

The Blanchard family respectfully requests that in place of floral tributes, donations be directed to Flow Church in Ashville, AL, or Westbrook Christian School. These charitable gifts will serve as a tribute to James's memory and support the institutions that were dear to his heart.
