Jerome Milligan Obituary
November 16, 1931 - July 3, 2025
Jerry Milligan, age 93, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Thursday, July 3.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 16, 1931, Jerry lived a life marked by love and family. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and later earned his degree from St. Joseph's University in 1959. In 1962, he married his first love, Ida May (Taylor), after meeting her at a wedding. Together, they built a warm and loving home, raising their family in Lester, PA, Silver Spring, MD, Medford Lakes, NJ, and finally Derwood, MD.
Jerry was preceded in death by Ida May in 2000. He is survived by his children: Michelle Curtis (Marvin), Jerome (Patricia), Ernest (Michelle), and Mark (Chaz); as well as his cherished grandchildren: Kellyn, Max, Marcus, Victoria, and Eleni. He was a beloved brother to Edmund (2020), Martin, Adele Spranger, William, Robert, and Jean Koroly. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
In his later years, Jerry found companionship and joy with Emma Kayanan, with whom he shared a loving bond. He also treasured and embraced Emma's children and grandchildren as part of his family.
Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Jerry purchased a home near the Delaware beaches, where he found peace and happiness. There he spent time by the ocean and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.
In a final act of generosity, Jerry chose to donate his body to science, continuing his legacy of helping others.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Research Institute in his memory.
