John Moody Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 2, 2025.
John Lee Moody, 66, passed away on May 30, 2025, in Cocoa, Florida. Born on September 24, 1958, in Kenmore, New York, John lived a life marked by kindness, loyalty, and deep devotion to his family and faith.

A proud Christian who found joy and strength in reading the word of God, John carried his beliefs into every aspect of his life. He was known for his generous spirit-always ready to offer someone a place to sleep or share a heartfelt conversation. His warmth and compassion left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

John was a devoted father to his daughters Rachael (Darrell) Moyer and Heather Moody. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Melynie Kennerknecht and Dominick and Avery Moyer. Time spent with his grandchildren brought him immense happiness; they were the light of his life.

He is also remembered with love by his siblings: Scott (Jonie) Moody; Rene (Jonathan) Geis; Steven (Jenelle) Stromberg; Michael (Susan) Stromberg; Vivian Stromberg; and Linda Stromberg. His extended family includes many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will continue to carry forward the memory of his laughter and kindness.

John was predeceased by his parents Naomi and Irving Stromberg; his sister Jennifer Moody; brother Dale Stromberg; and niece Lynnann Moody.

Music played a special role in John's life-he especially loved Lynyrd Skynyrd and country music. Whether enjoying a good western movie or engaging in a friendly game, he embraced life's simple pleasures with enthusiasm. But above all else, it was time spent with family that he treasured most.

Those who knew John will remember him as the kindest father and grandfather-a hardworking man whose loyalty never wavered. His words of wisdom, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.

Uncle John,
Your heart is the biggest I´ve ever known. I will cherish our time together forever. I miss the hunting , fishing and working together. You taught me so much there´s not a day that goes by that I don´t use a trick of the trade or life advice you have given me. I am having a hard time with you being gone as I feel a huge void like I´m missing a huge part of me but I know where your golden heart taken you so I find some solace in that. Give all our family up there one of your famous hugs. You will be very missed down here but I believe you´re in the arms of our eternal Father God.

So many good memories of John, when I was in cosmetology school he came in to let me practice on him and all the girls went on and on about how cute he was. I even tried to set him up with one of them. He was always a man of little words but you always remembered what he did say. He taught us to play Euchre (created a monster, I can´t get enough of that game) and he had so many funny phrases we still say them when we play. "I´m here to tell ya" was one of the best ones! Whenever we would stop by, he would always say "stop back when you can stay longer" no matter how long we were there. Always kind and just a sweet big brother to me. The girls and grandkids were his world. They made him happier than I have ever seen him. I´m happy knowing he isn´t suffering anymore and that he is with Jesus

Just wanted to send my love and condolences to everyone in the family, including my best friend Rachael. John, I never got to meet you but I just want to thank you for creating one of my bestest friends. Our friendship is one that I know is everlasting and she wouldn't but the loving kind soul she is today without a wonderful father like you may you rest in peace and watch over them for eternity.
