Judy Merriam Jensen passed away on June 27, 2025 at her home in McFarland, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Judy was born January 5, 1946 to Dale and Wanda (Staver) Merriam. She grew up on the family farm in rural Darlington with her siblings, cats, dog, and 4-H calves, and attended Hovey School. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1964. Judy went on to Madison Business College, and began her working career at Oscar Mayer, where she made many life-long friends. She met the love of her life, Doug Jensen, and they married in 1973. Judy and Doug relocated to California in 1978, where they lived until Doug passed away in 2003. Judy then organized her move back to the Madison area to be closer to family, continuing to work until her retirement from WEA Trust.

Judy is survived by her siblings, Ralph (Doris) Merriam and Janice (Dennis) Dorow; her in-laws, Betty Merriam, Jackie (Stuart) Ross, Carl Jensen, and Sue Walls; her daughters by marriage, Tracy Mazzi and Kimberly Vick and their families, and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Doug; her parents; her siblings Ruth Wodke, Paul Merriam, Barbara Lee, Willie Merriam, Glenn Merriam, and an infant brother at birth; her in-laws Lois Merriam, Jerry Lee, Joanne Bingham, Terry Walls, Leroy Walls, Gay Walls, and Dale Walls; and nieces and nephews Warren Wodke, Gloria Goeres, James Wodke, and Rick Merriam.

Judy packed a lot of living in her lifetime, enjoying travel, bowling, playing cards, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers, to name a few of her favorites. She was an independent lady, living on her own for as long as her cancer allowed. Judy was a loving sister, a doting aunt, a loyal friend, and an all-around great person. She will be so very missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Cress Funeral Service MCFARLAND with a memorial service to begin at 1:00 PM.
