Kathleen Harris Obituary

Kathleen Marie "Kitty" Harris, 76, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, with her loving daughters by her side. Born on November 18, 1948, in Alexandria, Louisiana, she brought joy and laughter to those around her throughout her life.

She was a proud graduate of Bolton High School's Class of 1966 and carried the spirit of her Louisiana roots with her wherever she went. She was a longtime member of Horseshoe Drive Baptist Church in Alexandria.

Kitty was known for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh-traits that made her unforgettable to everyone she met. She lived boldly and with gumption, embracing every opportunity with humor and heart. She loved traveling the world, fishing for large bass, winning the occasional jackpot, crocheting and spending time with her grandkids.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Angela Harris Vega (Mario) and Melisa Harris Douzart (Terrance), who carry forward her strength and spirit. Her grandchildren-Teran Douzart, Dominic Vega, Levi Vega, and Desmond Douzart-were the light of her life and the lucky recipients of countless cherished memories spent together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Sarah Mayeaux, as well as her beloved brother, Jimmie "Jimbo" Mayeaux.

A private service will be held at a later date for family and her closest friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pineville Animal Shelter.
