Katrina McGaffey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 4, 2025.
Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, Katrina Fox McGaffey, has passed away peacefully in her home on May 28th, 2025, after a long courageous battle with brain cancer. She was a kind and loving soul who maintained a positive mindset through so much adversity. Katrina was known for her strength, resilience, and unconditional love. Her peaceful spirit will live on through the lives she touched, and we will miss her caring nature indefinitely.

Katrina was born on May 28th, 1971, to Gregory and Diane Fox. Katrina graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple, WI and went on to attend UW-Superior where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Medical Technology. She worked as an assistant supervisor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for 23 years. Katrina is survived by her husband, Darren McGaffey, her daughter, Megan McGaffey, and her mother, Diane Fox Burger. She was preceded in death by her father, Gregory Fox and her sister, Wendy Fox Van Camp.

To honor Katrina's life and cherish memories with loved ones, there will be a Celebration of Life at Mission Covenant Church in Poplar, WI on June 28th, 2025, from 3 to 6 PM.

I miss you so much it physically hurts. You were so many things to so many people. Daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Your absence has felt every single moment of every day. I know it hurts this much because you were such an amazing person and because losing you is a tremendous loss for so many people. I love you now and always my sister cousin wife!
