Ruth Ann Lambert transitioned from Earth to Glory at the age of 80 on the morning of August 25, 2025.

Ruth Ann was born May 21, 1945, in Smyrna, Delaware, to the late William and Rachel Mitchell. She attended schools in Smyrna and Middletown and graduated from Louis L. Redding High School and briefly attended Delaware State College.

She was employed as a unit secretary and later retired from the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill after twenty-five years. Ruth enjoyed watching General Hospital, shopping at Macy's, and doing yoga, tai chi, and exercising at the Absalom Jones Senior Center.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; parents, William and Rachel Mitchell; her sisters, Rachel Wooten and Beverly Swann; her brothers, Clarence Mitchell and Roger Lee Mitchell.

Ruth Ann leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters Angela and Shamika Lambert (James); bonus daughter, Marquita Whittaker-Mickey; two grandchildren, Malik and Kayla Lambert; one sister, Shirley Whigham (Clarence); two brothers, William and Douglas Mitchell; one brother-in-law, Harold Lambert (Sandra), two sisters-in-law, Bertha Gray and Gladys Wheeler (Craig); one niece, Doretha Johnson; four nephews, Gary Benson, Omar Rashada, Pedro Swann (Talayia), and Darius Swann (Brandi); along with a host of bonus grandkids, aunts, uncles, nieces, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
