Tokey Sue Gardner was born on June 3, 1947, to Olin and Mildred Walker, and was taken to her forever home on September 20, 2025, after 78 years filled with love and laughter. Tokey was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend.

She spent her early years in Altamont, during that time, Tokey worked at the McDonald's Tea Room in Gallatin, Missouri, for many years.

In 1974 & 1976 she welcomed her two children, Mandi and Kimberlee. As her children grew older, she relocated back to Gallatin, where she found her place at the Corner Cafe alongside her best friend, Sue Cox.

Tokey was a pillar of the McDonald's community, where she worked for 30 years before retiring in 2009. She loved each and every one of her customers, especially the "coffee crew" who joined her each morning.

You could always find her at home, watching her favorite shows and bragging about her children and grandchildren. She was loved and cherished by many and will always be remembered as the most stubborn person you ever met.

She is survived by her brother, Denis (Lori) Walker of Ocean View, Hawaii, and their daughters, Sara (Tyler) of Grain Valley and Jessi Solt (Ty) of Minneapolis, Kansas; her daughters, Kim Calton (Jake) of Kansas City, MO, and her children Mariah, Steven, and Makinzee; and Mandi Bergmann (Chad) of Rayville, and her children Jessica (Reggie), Jennifer (Alex), Maddy, JJ, McKinley, and Taylor, her niece Eugenia Jeffery (Tim) of Lawson; Melanie Penniston (Harold) of Lawson; her nephew Tim Parton, nine great-grandchildren; many great nieces and nephews and her best friend, Saije the cat.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tokey and Mildred Walker, her sister, Ruth Ann Parton, brother-in-law Ivan Parton and her daughter, Tokey Ann.

A Celebration of Life for friends & family will be held on October 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Mandi & Chad's home.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Ronald McDonald's House Charities.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many healthcare workers, friends, and family for their love, support, and kindness.

Contact Mandi or Kim for more details on the Celebration of Life.

I am so sorry to hear of Tokey's passing. We worked together at the old Winston Truckstop years ago. We both lived in Altamont at one time and use to have coffee and play cards. She was a wonderful woman and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her. My condolences to her family.
