Doris Etler, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully and was delivered into the hands of her Lord Jesus Christ on May 19, 2025, in Warne, North Carolina. Doris was 94 years old and was born on November 2, 1930, in Perry, KY to Norbert and Clara Brahm.
Doris led a life rich in love, compassion, and faith. A devoted mother and grandmother, Doris is survived by her son, Dale Holland of Atlanta, Georgia, and her daughter-in-law, Bette Holland. She took immense pride in her grandchildren: Christopher Holland of Spring, Texas; Brian Holland of Joshua Tree, California; Brandy Lovell of Gainesville, Georgia; and Michael Holland Jr. of Washington, Georgia. Doris was also the great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren, Kate and Michael.
Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Etler of Hiawassee, Georgia, and her son, Michael Holland, who resided in Warne, North Carolina. Their memories were always near to her heart.
Doris had a passion for reading and a deep commitment to her church, Good Shepherd Episcopal in Hayesville where she spent many fulfilling hours in fellowship and service. Her faith and love for literature were but a few aspects of her remarkable life that left a lasting impact on those around her.
As we remember Doris, we celebrate her legacy of kindness, her unwavering faith, and her beautiful spirit that brought light into the lives of her loved ones. She will be deeply missed, yet her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
