Mark Sanders Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 23, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mark Sanders, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on May 3, 2025, at the age of 65. Mark was born on December 3, 1959, in Odessa, Texas, to Garland and Mary Sanders, who welcomed him with open arms and hearts. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Garland and Mary, and is survived by his devoted family members who cherished him deeply.

Mark's journey through life began in the small town of Odessa, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by kindness, humor, and an unwavering faith. He graduated from Lake View High School in 1978, marking the beginning of a path that would lead him to further his education and fulfilling his calling as a licensed minister after graduating from Criswell Seminary. His faith was a guiding force in his life, and he shared his love for the Lord with everyone around him.

Mark's work ethic was as commendable as his character. He began his career by learning the car parts trade from his father, and later made a significant move to Dallas, Texas. There, he dedicated over 30 years to AT&T, where he made lasting friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues before retiring. His professional journey was marked by diligence and a commitment to excellence, traits that also defined his personal relationships.

Family was at the core of Mark's existence. He is survived by his beloved sister, Debbie Berryman, He was a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews: Tiffany Bilbrey, Casey Bilbrey and his wife, Karen, and Danielle Crane and her husband, Michael. Mark took great pride in being a great uncle to his great niece, Julia Franco, and great nephew, Ezekiel Franco. He also shared a special bond with the extended family members, including Chelsea and Brandon Shafer, along with their children Raelynn, Olivia, and Logan, as well as Katelyn and Erik Ljungholm, and their daughter Emilia.

The family also wishes to acknowledge Marks friend Todd Skidmore who was as close as a brother to him.

Mark's character was a tapestry woven from kindness, humor, and generosity. He had a unique ability to make people laugh and feel valued, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. His faith in God and his commitment to serving others were evident in his actions and words. Mark's legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him and were touched by his warmth and spirit.

As we celebrate Mark's life, we remember the laughter he brought into our lives, the lessons he imparted, and the love he shared so freely. His memory will continue to inspire us to be better, to love more deeply, and to be as generous and kind as he was. Mark Sanders will be dearly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace, reunited with his beloved parents in the presence of Christ the Lord whom he so passionately served.

A memorial service will be held in his honor, where we will gather to share stories, celebrate his life, and find solace in each other's company on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 10 in the morning at Camp Hoblitzelle, 8060 Singleton Road, Midlothian, Tx 76065 in the Coffield Longhorn Room, follow the signs.
