Mary Mattoon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 16, 2025.
Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Mattoon, née Espinoza, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, in Carrollton, Texas, at the age of 72. Born on October 31, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, Liz lived a life filled with music, family, and joy.

Raised in Dallas, Texas, she was blessed by two strong parents and eight brothers and sisters. Their home was filled with laughter and faith. Liz graduated in 1971 from Adamson High School in Oak Cliff, Texas. She enjoyed being a member of the choir and singing in musicals.

Liz dedicated over two decades of her professional life to Nikon Instruments. Her time there was marked by meaningful connections and a genuine enjoyment of working with people from all walks of life. Her warmth and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.

Music was the heartbeat of Liz's life. Gifted with a magical singing voice, she shared her talent generously performing at various venues and traveling to bring her music to others. She was a real star. Her love for music was not only a personal passion but also a legacy she passed on to her children and those fortunate enough to know her.

She always had a fierce sense of fashion. She turned heads when she walked into a room with that beautiful smile & her hair and makeup done. Liz's laugh was infectious, and people couldn't help but have a great time when out with her.

At home, Liz found joy in simple pleasures. She loved watching Dr. Pol Veterinarian on television and spent countless hours enjoying videos on her phone and iPad. Each evening brought a cherished ritual: sharing Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream with her beloved dog, Daisy.

Liz is lovingly remembered by her daughter Tonia Fuller; her son Bryan Fuller; and her granddaughters Brianna Fuller and Vivian Fuller. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonia and Salomon Espinoza, as well as her brothers John Espinoza, Joe Louis Espinoza, Pete Espinoza, and Simon Espinoza; and sisters Margaret Lollar; Carmen Vasquez, Rose Martinez, and Hope Cavallo.

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Mattoon's vibrant spirit lives on through the memories she created with those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
