Michael Greer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 26, 2025.
Michael J. Greer passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2025 in Newport Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Geraldine Greer, and his infant son, Michael Jr. (died 1976). He is survived by his wife, children John and Nicole, twin sister, Gina, and brother Tony (wife Gail), and nieces: Lauren, Jenna & Krissy. Mike will be remembered for his professional achievements, character, warmth, and profound love for his family and friends. As the co-founder and CEO of Waveland, he led with integrity and vision, establishing a legacy rooted in trust, excellence, and purpose. Yet those who knew Michael best understood that his life was defined by more than just his career.

A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Michael was always up early, and in the gym well before he started his day at Waveland. He took great pride in taking care of his health in every way-working out and eating well. He was most definitely fit. He also recently participated in a reunion baseball game with his baseball buddies from high school! It was the 50 year reunion game of their 1975 Championship!

In Michael's most recent years, he found strength and guidance in the church. Pastor Joe, in particular, was very instrumental in helping Michael find Christ and his own inner strength. We are forever grateful to Pastor Joe and Mike's sponsor, Roger, for helping Michael in this journey. Additionally, in these most recent years, Michael was blessed with true love from an amazing woman. We are so grateful to Liza for the unconditional love and peace she gave him. It had been a very long time since Mike had that kind of love and happiness in his life!! He so deserved it.

Michael possessed a remarkable gift for listening, mentoring, and providing support with humility and strength when it mattered most. Above all, he was a patient husband, a loving father to John and Nicole, a caring brother to Tony & Gina, a devoted son, and a loyal friend.

His legacy of kindness, leadership, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who knew him. Michael will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.

Mike was one of my all time best clients & mentors. He was the epitome of health & ever since he came to work with me, we witnessed a huge life transition in his first few months of us meeting & training together.

He was a pillar in the TURF community for the evening crew and everyone enjoyed his presence. Him and Liza were a very dynamic, sweet and loving force.

He will be greatly missed and remembered in our TURF community.

For all us Christians, we know it´s not goodbye, it is see you later! Miss ya Mike!

I had the privilege to meet Mike in a Bible study and from the moment I met him, I could see he was a man of integrity, strength and humbleness. Everytime he spoke up, everyone listen intently. His story was very inspiring to me and everyone in the group, and it gave me a sense of determination to follow thru with my goals and what I must do to be a man of God. He will be missed and his legacy will live on thru all the people he touched. Heaven gained another warrior.

50 year reunion of the 1975 Granada Hills high school city championship! Coach Darryl Stroh and All players who were part of this championship legacy were in attendance - February 15, 2025.

The Mike that showed up to this eventis the same Mike they remembered from high school! Mike is remembered as the ultimate team player with a knack for making everyone laugh. They were so glad he made it. Mike loved his team, his coach and his teammates.

Mike,

Our story began in the quiet hours of the early morning, when we would see each other at the gym, workouts that grew into something so much more-an unshakable friendship, and eventually, a love rooted in something sacred. I watched you wrestle with your past, search for something more, and then step boldly into your faith. Witnessing you find God and surrender your life to Him was one of the most beautiful transformations I´ve ever seen. You became a man of quiet strength, full of grace, compassion, and unwavering love.

You had a gentle, kind, and generous soul. You loved me with a purity I never knew existed-a true, authentic, and Unconditional Love. A God-like love. I know it exists because I lived it with you.

I will forever treasure our Sunday mornings at church, hand in hand, hearts wide open to God. Our Saturdays were sacred in their own way-workouts, laughter, strolling through the farmers market. Every moment with you came from a place of love. You did everything for me with intention, with tenderness, and with joy. It was a love that cannot be replicated... because it was a gift from God.

We had so many plans to blend our families, to live life to the fullest, to soak up every blessing this world could offer. As you always said, it was going to be "off the charts." Your unexpected, untimely death is a tragedy that has left a hole in this world-and in my heart-but...

I take comfort in the eternal truth: I will see you again Honey.

Nothing on this earth can break the bonds of the love we shared. It lives on. Forever.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." - Matthew 25:23
