Providence - Natalie Ruth Austin, age 92, a lifelong resident of Providence, RI, passed into the arms of the Lord March 21, 2025, at the Rhode Island Hospital following complications from a fall. Natalie graduated from Brown University in 1954 and applied her administrative skills in a career as a legal secretary. Additionally, Natalie devoted years of service as a volunteer at the Rhode Island Hospital and at the local Senior Center. A lifetime member of the Community Church of Providence, Natalie served in a number of roles to include historian, church clerk, organist, and choir member. A world traveler, Natalie possessed an exceptional mind speaking six languages and excelled in mathematics and geography. Her friends and family knew her as a modest, sweet, and caring person who will be dearly missed. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Joel Dibble Austin and Ruth Richardson Austin and a sister, Constance Austin Bean. She is survived by a sister, Sarah Austin Almquist, two nephews, Kenneth and Richard Almquist of Red Bank, NJ and a devoted niece, Dr. Carolyn Wagoner, DDS, of Earlysville, VA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on April 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM with family visitation at 10:00 AM at the Community Church of Providence, 372 Wayland Ave., Providence, RI 02906 with Senior Pastor Sarah Reed Jay officiating.
