Robert L. Stevens Jr., 74, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, entered into the joy of the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire.
Robert was born on September 27, 1950, in Chippewa Falls to Robert L. Stevens Sr. and Dorothy (Cartwright) Stevens. He placed his faith in Jesus Christ at a young age while attending a Bible study in elementary school. After graduating from Waukegan High School in Illinois, he married the love of his life, Maddaline Paxin, on October 25, 1975. In 1986, Robert graduated from Bible school at Sauk Trail Baptist Temple in Richton Park, IL., before moving his family to Chippewa Falls.
From a young age Robert dreamed of a home filled with children, and God abundantly blessed him with six children and 30 grandchildren. Robert was currently serving as pastor of Bridgewater Baptist Church. His greatest joy was ministering to his congregation and serving the Lord.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Gina (Weng) Liew of Kronenwetter, Carla Stevens of Eau Claire, Keturah “Kitty” (James) Christian of Weston, and Carissa (Nate) Thompson of Chippewa Falls; his sons, Joshua (Cori) Stevens of Evansdale, Iowa, and Caleb (Kayla) Stevens of Clarksville, Tennessee; 30 cherished grandchildren; his sister, Jacqueline (Martin) Becerra of Waukegan, Illinois; his sister-in-law, Barb Stevens of Cullman, Alabama; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Maddaline, in 2017; and his brother, Rodney Stevens.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls, officiated by Rev. Gary Perreault. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to assist the family with funeral expenses.
