Obituary for Ryan T. Momsen

June 27, 1986 - May 15, 2025

Ryan T. Momsen, 38, of Santa Ana, California, passed away on May 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved.

Born on June 27, 1986, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Ryan spent his early years in Indiana, where he graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 2004. As a proud member of the school's show choir First Edition, Ryan's charisma and sharp wit made him a standout on and off the stage.

After high school, Ryan pursued a career as a phlebotomist-a profession that became his life's calling. He was dedicated to his patients and approached each one with empathy, care, and a quick joke to put them at ease. For Ryan, drawing blood was more than a job-it was a way to connect, comfort, and serve.

Ryan was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Purdue sports, loyally supporting his teams through every high and low.

Outside of work and sports, Ryan had another passion that brought him joy: his Subaru. Whether working on it, driving it, or just admiring it in the driveway, it was more than a car-it was an extension of his personality: a source of freedom and a reminder to enjoy the ride.

He made his home in Santa Ana, California, where he built a life surrounded by friends. His sense of humor was unmatched and he had the remarkable ability to make anyone laugh-often with a perfectly timed one-liner or a mischievous grin that made it impossible not to smile.

Ryan's presence was a gift-his humor, his heart, and his humanity touched everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Ryan is survived by his beloved son, Bailey Kaiser of Louisville, KY; mother, Sue Suttles, and her husband Buddy of Maricopa, AZ; father, Ken Momsen, and his wife Tammy of Wisconsin; brother, Kip Momsen, and his wife Krysten of Sellersville, PA; sister, Kellie Oxee, and her husband Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Cory Momsen, and his wife Sarah of Tehachapi CA; cherished grandmother, Bunny Boardman of West Lafayette, IN; Step brother and sister Kyle and Lindsay Suttles of California. He is also survived by a nephew, nieces, uncles, aunts, and a wide circle of friends and patients who will never forget the joy he brought into their lives.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Ryan's memory by making someone laugh today.
