Shawn Brewer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 8, 2025.
Shawn "Boo Bear" Brewer, age 46, passed away on May 8, 2025, in Universal City, Texas. Born on March 16, 1979, in San Antonio, Texas, Shawn brought joy and laughter to those around him throughout his life.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, Shawn leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his wife Kathy Brewer; sons Brandon, Tony, and Aiden; grandchildren Bobbie and Timothy; his father Richard Brewer; sisters Samantha and Shannon; and brother Matthew. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Barbara Boyd and Joela Johnson, his grandfather known affectionately as Papa, and his beloved daughter Barbara.

Shawn was a man of deep faith who believed wholeheartedly in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was proud to share his testimony with others and lived as a Christian guided by love and compassion. His spiritual devotion was a cornerstone of his life and a source of strength for those around him.

Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Shawn had the rare ability to make anyone laugh. His intelligence shone through in conversation, but it was his kind heart that left the most lasting impression. A true social butterfly, he made friends wherever he went-his warmth drawing people in with ease.

Shawn had a passion for fishing that brought him peace and joy. Whether casting a line or simply enjoying the water's calm embrace, he found solace in nature. He also loved coloring as a creative outlet and had an enduring obsession with saltwater fish tanks-a hobby that reflected both his curiosity and appreciation for beauty. Music played an important role in his life as well, often serving as the soundtrack to moments shared with loved ones.

Those who knew Shawn will remember him not only for the laughter he inspired but also for the love he gave so freely. His presence lit up every room he entered, leaving behind memories filled with warmth and joy.

May Shawn's memory bring comfort to all who knew him and may his legacy of faith, kindness, and laughter live on in the hearts of those he touched.

It´s been 8 days my love 8 very long days, I didn´t know it was possible to hurt this much or miss someone with every single fiber of your being but I do. I miss everything you, our life, your touch, your laugh, hearing I love you. Waking without you will never get easier, time won´t dull this. But I promised you then and I still mean it I will do everything to honor you and I will love you with all of me until the day we are reunited again. I love you boo bear to the moon and back.

I´m sure Shawn will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. My heart goes out to all his loved ones and friends and to his amazing wife that I´ve gotten to know over the past several months. May you find comfort knowing how loved he knew he was and the blessed life you shared.

Shawn I did not know what to think of you the day Kathy brought you home to meet me. What I can say is this that second visit from you, you had me. That was the day Aiden asked you to be his dad. Your tear filled answer had me that day. Then there is the day you and I stood toe to toe butt heads. I thought Kathy was going to die. That day you placed your hook in me even deeper. For I knew right then and there you was the man for my daughter. You could handle anything she throw at you and still love her. Over the years you have taught me so much. You have giving me love even when I did not feel I deserved it. You have been kind and understanding. Over the years you have truly become my son. I am so thankful you allowed me to treat you as so. All the you and me memories I will share. But most of all all the family times. You have taken this broken family and made us whole. You have brought together broken relationships and have giving my daughter back something way more then was ever giving to you. A true family warts and all. I am so proud to call you son and will honor your memory each and every day. Thank you for being you.
