Zachary Huber Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 4, 2025.
Costa Mesa - We are sad to announce the passing of Zachary Jacob Huber, who left this world on March 30, 2025, in Costa Mesa, California. Born in Evansville, Indiana on December 13, 1983, Zach lived a life full of laughter, love, and delicious food.

He was a 2002 graduate of Harrison High School and a 2005 graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Chicago.

Zach was a culinary wizard who could turn even the most basic ingredients into a gourmet masterpiece. He was also well known for his exceptional skills as a young baseball player, winning several Babe Ruth awards. Many have said that he was the greatest little leaguer ever. Zach's true passion was having a good time and making people smile. Whether it was through his signature dishes or his infectious sense of humor (Zachism), he had a way of brightening up any room he entered.

Zach leaves behind his beloved partner, Lindsay Smith and his little buddy Callahan. With Lindsay, he found true love. They always supported each other and shared a love of good food and good times. Although they never had children of their own, they created a family built on laughter and love.

He is survived by his parents, Don Huber (Patti) and Sue Hoffman. Sisters Kim Dunlap (Sam), Michelle Simon (John), and Tianna Crews (Bobby). Brothers Ryan Huber (Audrey), Kyle Hoffman (Jamie), and Josh Huber (Brittnie). Brother-in-law Bill Kimble, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish the memories they shared with Zach. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Bud and Irene Huber, Robert and Muriel Rippey, sister Sarah Kimble, and nephew Jayden Anderson.

Zach's legacy will live on through the countless meals he cooked, the smiles he brought to people's faces, and the love he shared with everyone he met.

A celebration of life will be held at Dede's Sand Trap at Fendrich Golf Course 1900 E Diamond Ave Evansville, IN on April 13, from 5:00pm-8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Evansville Rescue Mission. Don't forget to "keep her classy". It was a good game, but it was over way too soon.

Big guy it had been to long since our paths had crossed but you will forever be in my heart brother. You was such a special person to me during some of the hardest times of my young life. How I miss the days of playing 2 at wesselmans park during babe Ruth and then going out on scooters after. Or the time you took me to Chicago on spring break at 16 and we was gonna stay at your uncles only somehow we couldn´t find him and ended up in a by the hour motel cause that´s the only place we could find to stay being under 18. Tell Guy up in heaven I said hi and I´ll see you guys when my time is called. I love you brother, and will never forget you my friend!

When I seek anwsers I become numb to the thought of losing a friend maybe not always close me within proximity but when we'd see one another it was always filled with a bunch of laughs remembering all the not so smart but hilarious things all of us have experienced in some form or fashion. He taught me me many skills on the grill like seasoned chicken breast cooked on a backyard grill spritzer with lemon...still to date some of the best chicken I've ever eaten! He will be missed more than words can describe and my heart breaks for his family. I'm here for you Ryan, if you ever need someone to talk to or anything for that matter I'm here for you! Until we see each again in the kingdom of heaven my brother.
