Carol Sylvia Schutz

July 30, 1942 - July 6, 2025

Carol Sylvia Schutz, age 82, of Cozad, Nebraska, died on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Emerald Nursing Care in Cozad. She was born on July 30, 1942, in Sargent, Nebraska, to Oscar and Sylvia (Wright) Dishman.

She held numerous jobs, including over-the-road trucking and working at nursing homes. She retired from Baldwin Filters in 2001. She married Charles Walker in March of 1960. After Charle's death in 1990, she married Gene Schutz in July of 1996. After her retirement, she and Gene spent winters in south Texas, where she enjoyed walking on the beach, watching sand turtles, and collecting seashells.

Carol is survived by her husband, Gene of Cozad, NE; sons, Cash (Susan) Walker and Chuck (Janice) Walker, all of Gothenburg; stepdaughters, Susan Schutz of Funk, NE and Sally (Eric) Loisel of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Ann (Will) Neville of Eustis, NE, Chris (Maggie) Roybal of Lincoln, NE, Vanessa Byrns (Tyler Buesing) of Gothenburg, Dustin (Torey) Walker of Buckeye, AZ, Shawn (Rori) Walker of Richmond, Texas, Noah Loisel and Keira Loisel of Fort Worth, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry (Patsy) Dishman, Delbert Dishman (Marsha Weeks), and Lad (Ann) Dishman, all of Gothenburg, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Walker; grandson, James Walker; granddaughter, Claire Loisel; brothers, Ed Dishman, Loren Dishman, Grant Dishman, William Dishman, and Garry Dishman; and sisters, Hazel McKnight, Beulah Norris, and Betric Dishman.

There will be no viewing as cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lexington, NE.
