Shannon Morice Obituary
Shannon Morice
September 16, 1970 - June 4, 2025
Shannon Morice passed away peacefully at her home on June 4, 2025, surrounded by love. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose generous spirit and warm heart touched everyone she met.
Born on September 16, 1970, in Monroe, Wis., Shannon built a life filled with care, joy, and unwavering dedication to others. She married the love of her life, Bernardo Morice, on September 16, 2000. In 2003, they settled in Evansville, where they raised their two sons and created a warm, welcoming home.
Shannon lived in Evansville with her husband, Bernardo, and their younger son, Miguel. Her older son, Javier, resides in Florida with his fiancée, Sarah. Shannon found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially time spent at home with those she cherished. Her deeply sentimental nature was rooted in the lifelong bond she shared with her mother, Sandy, who lovingly called her "My Doll" and often reminded her, with pride, that she was "so proud to have her as an extension of her being."
With more than 20 years dedicated to the child care field, Shannon nurtured and guided countless young lives, both before and after becoming a mother herself. Her natural kindness and patience made her a trusted and beloved presence in many families' lives.
Fondly known for calling everyone "Sweetie," Shannon had a way of making people feel instantly at ease and cared for. She adored her dogs and treasured time at home, where she created a space full of comfort, laughter, and love. She was known for firing up the grill year-round, rain, snow, or shine, and could turn even an ordinary evening into something special. Her gatherings were filled with great food, hearty laughter, and the unmistakable scent of sizzling brats, burgers, and perfectly crisped cheese curds. She had a gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel welcome, especially during her favorite season: Halloween. From spooky decorations to festive parties, Shannon made it a celebration to remember.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bernardo; her sons, Miguel, of Evansville and Javier, of Florida (with his fiancée, Sarah); her mother, Sandy; her father, Mike; her aunts, Shari and Tracy; her uncles, Bob and Kurt; her brother, Steve (Deb); her sister, Michelle; and her cherished nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her in-laws, William and Irene Morice, of Florida; and her sisters-in-law, Maria Teresa and Irene (Adrian). Shannon will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
In accordance with her wishes, Shannon will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home in Evansville, Wis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Dane County or Rock County in Shannon's honor.
