William Breeding Obituary

William O. Breeding, 53, born November 12, 1971, passed away in his Herriman, Utah home on July 29, 2025. Bill, as he was affectionately known by his friends and family, was born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he lived until joining the United States Army in 1991.

Bill dedicated his life to service, leadership and family. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army active duty at the age of 19 in 1991. He rose through the ranks to achieve the esteemed position of Command Sergeant Major, the highest possible enlisted rank. Over the course of 23 years, Bill led with integrity, courage and unwavering commitment to his Soldiers and his country. CSM(R) Breeding served in numerous assignments across the world, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and several others. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and many other's while serving in both combat and peacetime missions. Bill was also a master rated parachutist and jumpmaster. After retiring, Bill continued his dedicated service by continually offering mentorship to Soldiers which continued to enhance the strength of our military.

Following his distinguished military career, Bill spent the last 11 years living in Denver, Colo., Twin Falls, Idaho, Flagstaff, Ariz., and Herriman, Utah, where he made numerous friends through his outgoing nature. Whether at the gym, at work, or pretty much anywhere he went, Bill was known for his generous and caring spirit, often helping friends, family and strangers, without fanfare or need of recognition, whether they asked for it or not. He was a lover of dogs, especially his beloved Yorkshire Terriers, and he never missed the chance to stop and pet any he encountered. Bill will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by friends, family, and loved ones for his sharp sense of humor, his honest personality, and his unwavering loyalty to those he cared for and loved.

For those who would like to come and share memories of Bill, an informal Celebration of Life will be held at the Mountain View Barn located at 392 E 300 S, Jerome, ID, from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 24th.
