Charles DIXIE Obituary

Charles "Chuck" James Dixie, 74, of 453 Norwood Avenue, Youngstown, OH, departed this life Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 1:37 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Health Center Main Campus, following complications from an extended illness. He was born November 25, 1950 in Youngstown, OH, the son of James and Odessa Vaughn Dixie Jr. Chuck was employed with St. Elizabeth Health Center for 30 years as a Nurse Assistant and Ward Clerk, before retiring December 25, 2012. He also worked for Northside Hospital. He was a 1968 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a member of the Butler Memorial United Presbyterian Church USA and enjoyed watching football, basketball, baseball, golf and was an avid Las Vegas Raiders fan. He married Jacqueline "Jackie" Y. Hutchins Dixie January 17, 1995. Besides his wife of Youngstown, he leaves to mourn one daughter, Ms. Brittany Nicole Dixie of Youngstown; four siblings, Ms. Shirley Peace of Campbell, Lawrence (Eileen) Dixie of Youngstown, Ms. Barbara Dykes of Columbus and Earl Dixie of New York; three sisters-in-law, Ms. Debra Green, Ms. Mary Dixie and Ms. Beverly Dixie and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert Lee Dixie Sr., Arthur Frederick Dixie and Alwayne Green. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Tod Homestead Cemetery. Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.
