James Meyers Obituary

GIRARD - James Frederick Meyers, 77, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, in the comfort of his home. James was born July 17, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of the late Albert and Florence Meyers, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Girard High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. James worked for many years at Republic Steel, Youngstown Electric and Casey Equipment before retiring. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kenneally Meyers; his son, Brian (Renee) Meyers of Salem; his daughter, Jennifer Meyers of Girard; four grandchildren, Nathan Meyers, Lauren Meyers, Ava Latell and Emma Latell; and his brother, Darryl Meyers of McDonald. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Meyers, and his sister, Marilyn Kobal. Per James' request, there will be no services. Private interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown. James' family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs or to Hospice of the Valley.
