Marjorie Hall Obituary

Marjorie "Maggie" Rose Hall
Manistee, Michigan
10/06/1958 - 06/16/2025
Marjorie "Maggie" Rose Hall, 66, passed away at home unexpectedly on June 16th, 2025.
Marjorie was born on October 6, 1958, in Manistee, and was the daughter of the late Wesley and Marjorie Hall.
Maggie was a mom, grandmother, aunt and friend to anyone who met her. Her unique sense of humor and say anything personality made her friends with everyone. Maggie was also one of the kindest people you could ever meet. Our mother was always there to help anyone who needed it.
Maggie through her life worked at several places, whether it be at Hardees in Manistee or the many many years of doing in-home health care. She was also a security officer at the Little River Casino for which she won employee of the month 2 times while working there. Maggie loved what she called "her customers". As she would have people come to the casino because they knew she was working, her infectious positivity made her a joy for customers who came there and for her co-workers who she worked with, who a lot of them remained friends after she left the casino.
Our mom was an avid Bingo player, I am not sure avid was the right word, obsessed is probably more like it. She played Bingo for more than 30 years in areas all over Manistee County. She was famous for playing O 69 on all her cards. She always made jokes to many people who didn't understand what it meant or why she played that number.
Our mom had the best laugh you could ever hear. If she was laughing, you were laughing. She would laugh at her own jokes so loud and long that she would snort. Her snort alone would make you laugh. She was sooooo funny and even on your worst day could make you smile. Luckily her snort has been passed down as her daughter Tiffany got it.
But if our mom wanted to be known for anything it was her love of her family. She has many brothers and sisters who she loved very deeply. She has more nieces and nephews than most people could keep track of, but mom knew everyone and how old they were and when their birthdays were. Her love for her friends was amazing and she had the same friends for 35 plus years …. She always made friends and kept them, that was her nature and her personality.
Her Love for her family was unmatched and unparalleled. Her love for her boyfriend Pete was something of a fairy tale. From when they met on their first date, they were inseparable and stayed that way for the next 15 years. Her pride and joy were her kids and her grandkids. Her three kids and 4 grandkids were her life, and she will tell anyone she met about them. She was always supportive of her kids no matter what they were doing, 100 percent positivity. Tiffany, Keith and Jonnie are saddened to know that her bright light is no longer here but will live in their hearts forever. Her grandkids Kaylin, Gabe, Jayston and Trista are who she would always talk about. She loved being their grandma, even though she didn't know how to spell their names come Christmas time. She bragged about her grandkids to everyone and how she couldn't believe she was blessed to have the best kids and grandkids.
Our mom's best friend Barb Purgiel never left her side for over 40 plus years and often was her bingo partner. Our family is forever grateful for the friendship you showed our mom and that will never ever be forgotten.
Maggie will be dearly missed by her boyfriend Peter Eigl of Manistee, Her children Jonnie (Rochelle) Sam of Manistee, Keith Sam of Brethren and Tiffany Conklin (Riley Jolly) of Manistee. Her Grandchildren Kaylin Rose Sam of Bear Lake, MI, Gabriel Q Sam of East Lansing, MI, Jayston Arnold of Bear Lake, MI and Trista Arnold from Manistee MI, currently in Trento, Italy. Her Siblings Jim Hall of Lebanon, MO, Jeff and (Judy) Hall of Bear Lake, Mi, Bonnie Smith of Manistee, Debbie and (Marlon) Brown of Wilmington, IL. Cindy and (Donnie) Schmidt of Elkhart, Indiana, Tammy and (Ronnie) Schmidt of Kaleva, Mi, Tim and (Tara) Hall of Harrietta, Mi and Kevin Hall of Manistee. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Former spouses Jonnie Sam II and Rex Conklin. Her grand doggies for whom Maggie loved very much, including Blu Conklin and Diesel Sam and her cat Baby.
Maggie as proceeded in death by her daughter Carrie Sue Conklin, Her parents Wesley and Marjorie Hall. Her brothers Jon Hall and Wesley Hall. Sister-in-laws Nana Hall and Janice Hall and infant brother Timothy William Hall, Nephews Kevin William Hall Jr and Jason Jeremy Hall.
She also adored Tiffany's Pets cat Snow Conklin and dog Tosh Conklin whom both passed away this year.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva, Michigan. Interment will follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery in Manistee, with a luncheon to follow at the VFW in Manistee. Visitation with the family will take place from 6-8 PM, Monday, June 23, 2025, at Terwilliger Funeral Home.

Maggie, I’m gonna miss you so much. I don’t know how I’m gonna go on without you. You are my best friend. We talked about everything and we never left anything out you and my mom were so close and when my mom passed away, we became very best friends. I was there for you. You were there for me whenever we needed somebody. You could always make me laugh no one will ever be able to do that the same way. I know you’re up there with my mom right now. You probably haven’t stopped hugging each other and I’m sure if there’s bingo up there you and her are playing nonstop. Give my mom a hug for me. And someday we will meet again. I’m sure you’ll be waiting for me once it’s my turn. I love you to the moon and back Maggie you will never be forgotten.

Maggie was the best ex-sister-in-law. Always quick with a “How are you doing?” and “Great to see you!” And, she truly meant it. Bingo revolved around Maggie-and she loved to play, call numbers—she’d even watch your cards along with her own—a phenom with letter/number combinations. My nephews will miss her. We all will.
