FLEMINGSBURG — Ida Frances Story Hinton, 77, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at her residence. She was the widow of Charles L. "Charlie" Hinton.
Born in Mason County on Dec. 5, 1947, Ida was a daughter of the late Nolan Lee Story and the late Hattie Miller Story.
Ida had worked at Randall's Textron for 40 years. She was a lifetime member of the local VFW, a member of the Cancer Care Club, and a member of the Fox Valley Camp Ground. She was a member of the Flemingsburg Nazarene Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Dee Dee (Bob) Calvert; three of her grandchildren, Laken (Scotty) Masters, Bryan Calvert, and Ryan Calvert; her eight great grandchildren, Charlee Rose, Wilson Scott, Kayleigh, Paisley, Henslee, Lynnex, Laura, and Cambre; and special friends, Garnett Hall, Martha Pollitt, Peggy Miller, and Barry and Karen Hamm. She is also survived by two of her siblings, Judy Little and Joe (Barb) Wade; her aunt, Bonnie Miller; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to her husband Charlie who passed in 2014 ; her mother Hattie; and her father Nolan; Ida was preceded in death by her son, Michael Story; her two granddaughters, Lindsey Kaye Calvert and Ashley Calvert; four of her siblings, Patti Bryant, Rose "Rosie" Lee Story, Lewis Wade, Jean Mattox; her friend, Susie Jett; and her special canine companion, Hank.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Dehart and Bro. Clint Stricklen officiating.
Ida will be laid to rest at Sunnyside Cemetery (formerly Mount Tabor).
Pallbearers include Deon Taylor, Barry Hamm, Bub Little, Evan Little, Mike Whalen, and Jeff Vice. Honorary pallbearers include Donnie Carpenter, Tommy Carpenter, Al McFarland, Jeff Harmon, Philip Lee, and Ethan Tackett.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
In place of flowers please consider a donation in memory of Ida to Hospice of Hope and/or Cancer Care Club.
