Sharon Kay Rovig

Reno, Nevada - Sharon Kay Rovig, age 83 passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at Renown Hospital in Reno, Nevada.

Born February 11, 1942, in Minot, North Dakota, Sharon was the daughter of Forrest and Ruth Baker and a proud graduate of Minot Model High School.

Sharon dedicated more than 25 years of her life as an Instructional Assistant, where she touched the lives of countless children with her patience, kindness, and passion for education. Her warmth and generosity made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Gary Rovig, and her loving family: her brother Bruce Baker and his wife Ollie, her daughter Sherilyn Sexsmith and husband Scott; her sons Dan Rovig and wife Linda, and Steve Rovig and wife Alison. She was a proud grandmother to Amanda Riley, Amie Breshears, Jacob Rovig, Kayla Harlan, Katelyn Rovig and Emma Rovig. Sharon was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, all of who brought her endless joy.

A women of quiet strength and deep love, Sharon enjoyed traveling, reading, and above all, spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her gentle spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Her legacy of kindness and devotion to helping others lives on in the family she cherished and the lives she helped shape.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery, 425 Stoker Ave., Reno NV. A private interment of ashes with family will follow.
