Gloria Jean Shain

Gloria Jean Shain, 76, of Hibbing, Minn., died peacefully at her home surrounded by family after her courageous battle with cancer on October 14, 2025.

She was born on May 5, 1949, to Doris and Archie Greenwood.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was their rock. Her kids and grandkids were her world. Bingo with friends was a passion. She spent her days as a homemaker, making it the best possible home for her family. She loved flowers and had a knack for decorating both the interior and exterior of her home. Her home was always a haven for family, and where all the holidays were spent.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John; her four children, Michael (Lynn) Shain, Brian (Sarah) Shain, Amber (Jeff) Benson, and Josh (Tia) Shain; her sister, Bonnie Greenwood; brother, Kenny (Sharon) Greenwood; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Doris and Archie Greenwood, and her brother Dale.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Fairview Range's oncology and hospice teams for their great and comforting care.
