Sharon Mohr Obituary

Sharon A. Mohr
Memorial services for Sharon will be held at the Caseville United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Luncheon to follow at Caseville Eagles Club at 1:00 p.m. Our beautiful, sweet mother, Sharon Ann Mohr, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 19th, 2025. Born on February 2nd, 1946, Sharon was 79 years young. To know our mom was to know a force of nature. She had the determination (and, yes, the stubbornness) of a bull, and the energy of a volcano unless, of course, she was sound asleep and snoring away in her chair. If something needed to be done, she was the one to do it. Or at the very least, she would start it usually with so much enthusiasm that Dad had no choice but to finish it at some point in the near or distant future. Like the time she picked up a sledgehammer and took it upon herself to demolish our entire cement patio. That was Mom. She made everyone feel welcome. Friends, neighbors, even strangers Mom treated them all like family. Her generosity had no limits, and her kindness reached far and wide. She had a gift for seeing people, truly seeing them, and making them feel valued. She loved playing Trouble with her grandchildren when they were young, and sipping coffee with them on the deck when they were older. She was a talented artist and decorated the house with her paintings, what she was known for most was her hugs. She didn't just give them out for hellos and goodbyes. You were getting a hug every time you walked by her. Whether you wanted one or not. Mom and Dad's love story began on a blind date. Four months later, on Valentine's Day, they were engaged. They were married on June 10, 1967 beginning a 58-year journey of perfectly imperfect love. A life built on devotion, partnership, laughter, nagging, forgiving, and faith. Even in Mom's final years, as Alzheimer's and dementia began to steal pieces of her memory, one thing never faded: her love for Dad. She may have forgotten what she was saying or doing, but she never forgot him the love of her life. There's no easy way to sum up the life of someone who meant so much to so many. But if you were lucky enough to know Sharon, you knew her warmth, her fire, her humor, her heart and her hugs. And if she loved you and she loved a lot of people you never had to wonder. She made sure you knew. We miss her already. We will always miss her. But we're grateful so incredibly grateful for every moment we had. Sharon is deeply missed by her devoted husband, Dieter, and their children: Mike (Amy) Mohr, Mark (Janae) Mohr, and Michelle (Jake) Hoogterp. She also leaves behind her beloved sister Carol Diener, sister-in-law Gundi (Laney) Babcock, her grandchildren: Kaily (Craig) Smith, Madison, Caiden, Megan, Abigail, Wyatt, Cole, Adelyn, and Raylynn, her great-granddaughter Stella Smith, and her niece and nephew, Dennis (Tricia) Diener and Lori (John) Rathje, Gwendolyn (Dell) Gerstenberger), Christopher (Denise) Babcock, plus many others. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, William Sr. and Cleo Cain, and brother William Cain Jr. Arrangements in care of Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar, Michigan.

Our family (Roe-Avon, Dennis & Cathy) lived across the road (Soper Rd) from each other through out the 50´s into early 60´s. We attended McDowell country school together.
Sharon was born with the ability to draw & paint from a very early age. I have fond memories of her mother, Cleo serving us TreeSweet Lemonade in those colorful tin glasses. Our mother (Lillian) & Cleo kept in touch (written letters) through the years.
I am so glad that Sharon´s 3 children have so many beautiful memories of their mother. May peace be with you all including Dieter & Carol.
