Junior Bruns Obituary

Junior Bruns, 83, of Basco, Ill., passed away at 5:58 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2025, at The Arbors in Quincy.
Junior was born June 11, 1942, in Quincy, the son of Willie George and Pauline Ruth (Leerhoff) Bruns. He graduated from Warsaw High School. Junior was a lifelong farmer, a career he has loved since the age of 8. His greatest love was for his wife of 62 years. He was united in marriage to Kaye Lynn Bashor in August of 1962. Junior had also served as the Bear Creek Road commissioner for many years.
Junior is survived by his wife, Kaye, of Basco; two sons, Rick (Patti) Bruns of Camp Point and Rod (Chrissy Lewis) Bruns of Carthage; grandchildren, Danielle (Kyle) Sethaler and Kaylee (Vance) Neastea; great-grandchildren, Kadence and Berkeley Sethaler; a brother, Keith (Connie) Bruns of Carthage and a sister, Betty (John) Peters of Payson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter in infancy, Mary Lou; and a brother, Paul Bruns.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Blessing Hospice or The Arbors in Quincy. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of services.
