Phillip Troy Colwell, born on June 10, 1963, passed away on October 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with love for his family and a passion for life. He retired from Publisher's Printing Company after 40 years of service.
Phil was a man of many interests and hobbies. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and cheering for UK football and basketball teams, which brought a thrill to his weekends. He cherished moments spent around bonfires, boating on the lake, and grilling out with loved ones. His enjoyment of life was often highlighted during karaoke nights, where his enthusiasm and spirit were infectious. Phil also found relaxation in the soothing warmth of his hot tub, always taking time to unwind and reflect on the blessings he had in life.
Above all, Phil loved his family deeply. He is survived by his wife, Jodi Colwell, to whom he was married for 35 years. He was a proud father to Jason DeWitt (Leslie) and Ryan Colwell (Meredith), and a devoted papaw to his grandchildren: Madelyn, Lawrence, and Jolene DeWitt. Phil shared a close bond with his siblings, Sharon Bowling (Jamie) and Lisa Colwell, who will remember him fondly.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Malcom and Shirley Colwell and his brothers, Travis and Sam Colwell.
