BEA LOFTHUS Bea Lofthus died Monday, June 30, 2025 at CCM Health in Montevideo at the age of 98. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Michelle Rowell will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church. Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home. Bernice Evangeline Mae (Oie) Lofthus was born April 12, 1927 in Montevideo, MN the daughter of Olaf and Petra (Quaal) Oie. She was baptized at home and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. Bernice graduated from Montevideo High School in 1945. She was united in marriage with Wallace Lofthus on November 17, 1946 in Montevideo where they made their home. She was a stay at home mom until 1963. Bea worked part-time as a bookkeeper at R & D Auto Supply. She loved all MN sports teams and enjoyed playing bridge which she also taught many others to play. She was a volunteer at Luther Haven. Bea was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church participating in the choir, Elizabeth Circle, and WELCA. Bea enjoyed watching her children in their activities and that carried on to her enjoyment of spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three children: Douglas (Cindy) Lofthus, LeeAnna Poppe, and Teresa Johnson (special friend Dave); daughter-in-law, Marti Lofthus; grandchildren: Angela (Eric) Chapman, Sara (Chad) Sutter, Lee (Stephanie) Poppe, Tara Hebrink, Trista (Kyle) Radunz, Marissa (Marcus) Lee and Alaina (Michelle Brown) Lofthus; great-grandchildren: Rayna, Cannon, Isaac, Ava, Andrew, Klay, Garrett, Quinn, Abby, Drew, McKenna, Brinley, Samantha, and Avery; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Wallace; son, Brad Lofthus; granddaughter: Lisa Lofthus Hotter; son-in-law, Greg Poppe; brothers: Olaf (Jeanette) Oie, Peter (Mirium) Oie, and Arnold (Aggie) Oie; and sisters: Alma Oie, Olga (Orlando) Nelson, Pauline (Clarence) Jerve, and Connie (Hamilton) Johnson.
