William "Junior" Cox
White Hall - William "Junior" Cox, age 82 of White Hall passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born April 28, 1943 in White Hall, the son of Ira and Stella Newingham Cox. He married Dorothy Norton August 15, 1964 in Carrollton and she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Stacey (Joe) Heckrodt and a son, Jerry (Debbie) Cox both of White Hall, seven grandchildren, Nathan (Crissi) Heckrodt, Corey (Kelc) Heckrodt, Kelsey (Michael) Sielschott, Amy Cox, Daniel Farris, Amanda (Mike) Brown and Wesleigh Pinkerton; fourteen great grandchildren, Autumn, Finlee, Ollie, Kenadee, C.J., Olivia, Landon, McKenzie, Cathryn, Luke, Gavin, Eric, Madison, and Jasmine, a great-great grandson, Liam, and two sisters, Ivy VanMeter of White Hall and Mary Antle of Jacksonville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Keith Cox, Marvin Cox, Franklin Cox, Elma Adams, Wanda Gentry, Barbara McWhorter, and Betty Murphy.
Junior worked for Alsey Refractories for over 40 years retiring in 2015. He was an avid watch and clock collector. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar, mowing his yard, going to yard sales, and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial to follow in White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be suggested to Tree of Joy. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
