Mary Lou Barton, 85, of Streator passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at her residence in Streator.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.
Born September 19, 1939 in Streator she was the daughter of Charles and Lucille (Svetz) Schmidt. She married Carl G. Barton on May 2, 1959. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2014.
She is survived by daughters, Beth (Jeremy) Walker of Streator and Mary Kay (Tom) Solon of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Carrie Walker of Streator, Katie (Charles) Limberg of Streator, Justine Walker of Streator, Eric (Jen Hayes) Barton of Streator, Michael Solon of Los Angeles, California and Forrest Solon of Omaha, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Tristen Dennis, Rhett Limberg, Lane Limberg, Eden Barton and Bryce Barton; and a daughter in law, Lori Barton of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Jeffery Barton; and brothers, Michael Schmidt and Charles in infancy; a great grandson, Petey Limberg
Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School.
She worked for Dr. Ehling as a receptionist for over 20 years.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was also a member and Past President of the Women's Republican Committee in LaSalle County.
Mary Lou was a homemaker through the years and her family was her main focus. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
