A Memorial Service for Dennis was held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, Nebraska. It was Dennis wish to be cremated. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Dennis D. Reiss, 65, of Sutton Nebraska died on Friday, August 1st, 2025 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Dennis was born July 19th, 1960 in Minden, Nebraska to Earl and Mary Ann (Christensen) Reiss. He grew up on the family farm south of Norman. He attended Holstein Public School and later graduated from Minden Public School in 1978. He married Connie Baker in 2006, settling in Sutton to raise their family. Dennis has always demonstrated a strong work ethic, having been raised on the family's hog farm. During Earl's illness, Dennis managed the extensive hog farm while still attending high school. Earl often remarked that Dennis was the key to their ability to continue farming for so many years. After leaving the farm, he spent several years at Preheim Farms near Henderson, Nebraska, and later worked for George Brothers, transporting propane and fertilizer. Dennis enjoyed visiting casinos to play blackjack. He also had a passion for collecting tractors and going to farm exhibitions. One of his favorite activities was assisting during harvest season, where he drove grain trucks and tractors. Above all, Dennis cherished spending quality time with his family. Dennis was typically a man of few words, but he was sure to show those around him how much he cared about them with his actions, and he stepped up even when he didn't have to. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Mary Ann Reiss, father-in-law Cecil Baker, grandparents Ed and Margaret (Lutkemier) Reiss, Julius and Gladys (Peggy) Bennett and cousin Terri Christensen. Survivors include his love Connie of Sutton; mother-in-law Rose Baker; children Brandon (Cj) Betterton of Hastings, Kinsley (Matthew) Musil of Ravenna, Levi (Amanda) Henery of, and Chesney of Sutton; sister Sharilyn (Dennis) Albers of Texas; brother Brad (Julie) Reiss of Red Cloud; nieces and nephew Shawn Albers, Taresa (Mark) Jacobsen, Logan (Mirissa) Reiss and Becca Jo Reiss; six grandchildren Paisley Henery, Bentley Larkins, Memphis Musil, Emersyn Musil, Bowen Henery, and Tucker Henery; great nephew Eli Jacobsen; and great niece Eleanor Reiss; and many other friends and extended family.
