ABBY COTTER
Abby Cotter of Granite City, IL departed this life surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter in Okawville, IL on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10:12 A.M. following a courageous battle against cancer. She had attained the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 7 days.
Abby was born in Granite City on January 21, 1958, the daughter of Melvin and Joann (nee Breyer) Cotter. She was a 1976 graduate of Granite City North High School.
Abby worked as an administrative assistant at Boeing in St. Louis for several years until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the Lovejoy Presbyterian Church in Wood River, IL. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family.
Left to mourn her passing is her mother, Joann Cotter of Granite City; a daughter, Jessica Lester and husband Mark of Okawville; four grandchildren, Zachary Daugherty of Granite City, Kaitlin Manker of Okawville, Parker Lester of New Port Richey, FL, and Paxton Lester of Belleville, IL; three sisters, Carol Denny and husband Gary of Glen Carbon, IL, Alice Heidbrink and husband Steve of Granite City, and Carrie Wiesehan and husband Scott of Troy, MO; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Cotter.
In accordance with the wishes of Abby and her family, cremation was performed, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Okawville Senior Center and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
