Adam E. Zdroik, affectionately known by some as Butch, of Stevens Point, passed away October 15, 2025, at Aspirus Hospital in Stevens Point, at the age of 94.
A funeral service will be held for Adam at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Shuda Funeral Chapel - 3200 Stanley Street, Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the funeral home from 11:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Adam was born November 2, 1930, in Stevens Point, WI; son of the late Adam and Theresa (Wanta) Zdroik. He grew up in the area where he attended local schools and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1948.
Shortly after high school, Adam was drafted into the military and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953. During this time, he met the love of his life, Caroline Sommers, and the two were married on February 13, 1952. They celebrated 73 years together as husband and wife. In September of 1953, while stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA, they welcomed their son, Thomas. After active duty, the family returned to Stevens Point where they welcomed three daughters; Laura, Diane, and Kathleen. To support his family, Adam worked for Consolidated Papers, dedicating 36 years to the company. Adam's greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He was a loving father who grew into a doting grandfather and great-grandfather. In Adam's opinion, family time was the best time!
Adam was a hard worker, only missing a handful of days over his 36-year career at the mill. He also enjoyed being active. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and throughout his life, enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, playing games and cards. In fact, he beat his family at croquet just four days before his passing. Adam also enjoyed reminiscing about his time in the service, proudly sharing his stories with friends and family. He was also resourceful and creative; he had a knack for finding a use for everything!
Adam is lovingly survived by his wife, Caroline; his daughters, Diane (Dan) Muto and Kathleen "Kathe" (Dale) Wroblewski; a son-in-law, Dave Schroepfer; his grandchildren, Chris (Carolyn) Knuteson, Tony Knuteson, Jackie Hintz, Angie (James) Killeen, Jason (Monica) Galloway, and Garrett (Steff) Wroblewski; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Madeline Klasinski and Mary Boushley; and a brother, Ken (Alice) Zdroik.
Adam was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Theresa; his son, Thomas Zdroik; his daughter, Laura Schroepfer; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Zdroik; a grandson, Jeff Galloway; brothers, Leonard and Emil Zdroik; brothers-in-law, Frank Boushley and Florian Klasinski; a sister-in-law, Patricia Zdroik; and many other extended family members who were there to meet him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Aspirus ER Team, especially Dr. Sinclair and Linea, and to his primary care provider, Jennifer Schoepke, for all the years of special care.
Shuda Funeral Chapel is honored to be assisting the family.
