Agatha M. McManaman, 97, of Spalding, NE, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society, Albion, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at St. Michael's Church in Spalding, NE with Fr. Lawrence Vadakkan officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Spalding, NE. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
Levander Funeral Home of Spalding, NE is in charge of arrangements.
Agatha Marie McManaman, daughter of John J. and Martha H. (Partsch) Zwiener was born August 12, 1927, at the family farm. She received the sacrament of baptism at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spalding, NE as well as being confirmed. Agatha attended District #14 school, graduating from the 8th grade at the age of 12.
On July 2, 1957, Agatha was united in marriage to Mark McManaman at St. Michale's Catholic Church in Spalding, NE. To this union five children were born: Marcia, Peg, Bill, Tim, and Janet. The couple lived and raised their children in Spalding, NE.
Agatha worked for 40 years as a nurse's aide, beginning at St. John's hospital then at the Friendship Villa in Spalding, NE. Agatha enjoyed working as nurse's aide so much so, that she did not retire until she was 80 years old. Agatha was a lifetime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and was a member of St. Anne's Altar Society. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed tending to her garden, and attending her grandchildren's school and sporting events.
Agatha is survived by her four children: Marcia (Dennis) Kallhoff of Norfolk, NE; Peg McManaman of Grand Island, NE; Tim (Annie) McManaman of Normal, IL; Janet (Jene) Kasperbauer of Spalding, NE; one sister: Patricia Canning of Ogallala, NE; 12 grandchildren: Julie Carlson; Jason Kallhoff; Cami Holmes; Austin Partridge; Lindsi Lueken; Grace McManaman; Sylvie Mann; Rose McManaman; TJ McManaman; Chad Kasperbauer; Drew Kasperbauer; Mark Kasperbauer; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Mark McManaman; son: Bill McManaman; sisters: Eileen Gilroy, Catherine Pawleska, and Mary Reynolds.
