On the early morning of June 22, 2025, at the age of 74, Leo was prepared to join our Lord Jesus Christ. Originally from La Junta, Colorado, he spend his formative years in Minturn, Colorado, where he first encountered Alverna Baca at Battle Mountain High School, who would become the love of his life. Their high school romance blossomed, culminating in their marriage on January 26, 1973, in Reno, Nevada.

Leo will be fondly remembered for his deep affection for his family, which he expressed through dedicated time and love throughout his life. He bestowed upon his loved ones his passion for music, classic cars, hot rods, golf, and the cherished tradition of Taco Tuesday.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing him were touched by his witty sense of humor, infectious laughter, and captivating smile. Leo's warm, outgoing, and friendly demeanor made him a genuine pleasure to be around, whether with lifelong companions or new acquaintances.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Sr. and Ida Baca, his brothers Henry, Charles (Eddie), and Lawrence (Pete) Baca, and numerous friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Alverna Baca, his sons Earl Baca, and Aaron Baca, his daughter-in-law Nichole, his grandchildren Halie and Dylan Baca (Maya Calarruda) and his great-grandchildren Leo and Lyla Baca. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws Sally (Jerry) Romero, Darlene (Dan) Kinsey, and Nancy Lozano and family, as well as his brother-in-law Rudy Lopez. Additionally, he is survived by his special nieces and nephews Dee Dee (Pat) Keyser and family, Judy Lopez, Clorinda (Ralph), Jennifer Baca and family, Kathy Baca and family, Heather Baca and family, Ken Romero and family, David Romero and children Illissa and Caleb, Justin Lopez, Ramon Tapia and family, and Patrick Baca and family, along with his mother Lucy Baca, and many more nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on July 27, 2025 at Moore Park 2nd boat ramp marina. All are welcome to attend and join in saying our final farewells from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
