Ronald Nelson Obituary
December 17, 1972 - April 13, 2025
Ronald Samuel "Sam" Nelson, age 52 of Bristol, Tennessee passed away at home on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was born in Johnson City on December 17, 1972.
Growing up Sam enjoyed golfing and spent his early career at White Plains Park Golf Course in Southern Maryland. He graduated in 1991 from McDonough High School in Pomfret, Maryland. He returned to Johnson City in 1991 and attended E.T.S.U. while working at the Johnson City Country Club in the Pro Shop, a position he held for several years. Most recently Sam was employed by Air Movers Inc. in Bristol, Tennessee. Sam was very dedicated to his work and possessed excellent people skills and knowledge of the industry.
He is survived by his parents, Jane and John Crewey, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a daughter, Elizabeth Crew Nelson, of Bristol, Tennessee, his father, Ronald G. Nelson of Johnson City, Tennessee, uncle, Jerry Dempsey and wife Sue, grandmother, Frances Crewey Detweiler of Marion, VA., and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ivan J. and Vivian H. Dempsey, paternal grandparents, Doris and Sam Nelson, all of Johnson City, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the youth group ministry of First Presbyterian Church in Bristol, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will be immediately following in Monte Vista Memorial Park.
