Alfred "Alfie" Anthony Ranucci, Jr.
Age 57 Formerly of Scotch Plains, NJ, Currently of Monticello, MN
Passed away on June 23, 2025. Born on July 16, 1967, in Elizabeth, New Jersey to parents Dorothy (Oropallo) and Alfred A. Ranucci, Sr.
Alfie was raised in Scotch Plains, NJ. He was a kind little boy, who was known throughout the community for his friendliness. From the tender age of 5, he would walk to the city swimming pool and became well-known to the residents of Scotch Plains as an amiable kid. He excelled at soccer, had a beloved dog, Topaz and graduated high school from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. He was proud to be from New Jersey and even prouder of his Italian heritage. That of course meant delicious family Sunday dinners with wonderful Italian food and meaningful conversation and reminiscing.
Alfie was a thinker, informed consumer, safety-minded, kind hearted and considerate, always putting other's needs before his. He had a strong faith and took comfort in reading the bible. He would go online and engage in theological debates on religious philosophies.
He was forgiving, silly, had a great sense of humor, liked to get people riled up, had good comedic timing, and will be remembered for his witty one-liners.
He played video and strategic games, especially World of Warcraft, listened to Podcasts, and loved Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, Buckcherry, and Rush. He was a low-key guy who liked spending time hanging out with his family.
You couldn't get through a movie without hearing him ask Alexa what the weather forecast would be, and he thoroughly enjoyed his recreational medicinal therapies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred, Sr. and Dorothy Ranucci; and brother Mark Ranucci. Alfie is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Karla (Cantin) Ranucci; children Brianna, and Andrew Ranucci; siblings Cindy Chavarriaga, Christine Ranucci, and Michelle (Paul) Carlos; many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends; and his adored cats Amber and Milo.
Visitation will be held from 5-8PM with a short prayer service at 7PM followed by sharing of memories on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 Broadway Street East, Monticello.
